CHAPTER 2: The Secret Hidden Behind the Wall
Emma stared at the envelope as though it might explode.
"David... who wrote that?"
He slowly turned it over.
There was no stamp.
No address.
No signature.
Only an old wax seal that had somehow remained perfectly intact despite years hidden inside the wall.
His hands shook as he carefully broke it open.
Inside...
was a handwritten letter.
The first sentence made his blood run cold.
"If you're reading this, it means you ignored my warning... just like I once did."
David's heartbeat stopped.
At the bottom of the page...
was a signature.
His father's name.
Impossible.
His father had died fifteen years earlier.
Emma covered her mouth.
David continued reading.
The letter revealed a truth he had never known.
Years before his father's death, he had secretly invested in a piece of land that everyone believed was worthless.
He never told anyone because powerful investors had tried to force him to sell it.

he hid every legal document inside the house.
The letter included directions to another hidden compartment beneath the old fireplace.
David and Emma rushed over.
Using a screwdriver, they removed a loose brick.
Inside sat a rusted metal box.
Within it...
were original land deeds, stock certificates, and one sealed document from an attorney.
The next morning, David visited the lawyer whose name appeared inside.
The elderly attorney smiled the moment he saw the documents.
"I've waited fifteen years for someone to bring these."
David stared in disbelief.
"What are they worth?"
The lawyer slid a newspaper across the desk.
The forgotten land had just been chosen as the site for a massive international technology campus.
Its value had skyrocketed.
David expected thousands.
Maybe even hundreds of thousands.
Instead...
The lawyer quietly said,
"After taxes and ownership verification..."
"...your inheritance is worth approximately $94 million."
David couldn't speak.
Emma burst into tears.
But the biggest shock wasn't the money.
The lawyer leaned forward and whispered,
"Your father's letter wasn't finished."
"There is one more envelope."
"And it names the man who destroyed your company..."
