CHAPTER 4 — "The Secret Behind the Diamond Necklace"

The front doors clicked shut.

Customers panicked.

Claire whispered,

"You can't do this."

Eleanor answered softly,

"I own the building, the brand, and every security camera inside it."

The manager almost collapsed.

Claire suddenly rushed toward the office.

But the security guard blocked her.

Eleanor nodded toward the Crown Aurora necklace.

"Open the case."

The manager obeyed with shaking hands.

When the glass lifted, everyone expected Eleanor to pick up the necklace.

Instead, she turned it over.

Hidden behind the largest diamond was a tiny engraved mark.

E.C.

Claire frowned.

"What does that mean?"

Eleanor's voice became quiet.

"My initials."

A stunned silence followed.

"This necklace was never meant for sale," Eleanor said.

"My husband designed it for me before he died."

The manager whispered,

"But company records say it was part of the public collection."

"Because someone changed the records."

Eleanor looked straight at Claire.

"And used it to attract wealthy clients."

Claire shook her head desperately.

"I didn't know."

Eleanor placed the necklace back on the velvet tray.

"Maybe not at first."

Then she opened the folded letter again.

"But you knew enough to charge clients illegal ‘priority fees.’ You knew enough to mock people who couldn't pay them. And you knew enough to erase complaints before they reached headquarters."

The manager's eyes widened.

Claire turned to him.

"You were part of it too!"

The room erupted.

The manager backed away.

"She's lying!"

Eleanor lifted one hand.

The security guard brought over a tablet.

On the screen were emails, fake receipts, deleted complaints, and private messages.

Claire covered her mouth.

The manager whispered,

"Who gave you those?"

Eleanor looked toward the entrance.

The old doorman stepped inside.

The same quiet man everyone ignored each morning.

He removed his cap.

"My name is Thomas."

Eleanor smiled through tears.

"And he is my son."

The entire boutique went silent.

The manager's face lost all color.

Because for years...

He had been insulting and underpaying the founder's own heir.

And Eleanor had not come back to buy a necklace.

She had come back to take her family’s empire home.
