CHAPTER 4 — The Secret Behind the Alpha’s Scar

By sunrise, Victor Hale’s empire was already collapsing.
The police arrested the hunters before they could invent a story. Their lawyers arrived fast, but not fast enough to erase the video.
Millions watched it online.
The billionaire hunters who had called an old man “worthless” were now being called what they truly were:
Cowards.
Samuel was taken to the hospital, but he refused to leave until he saw the Alpha one last time.
The wolf stood at the edge of the forest, snow covering its scarred leg.
Emily arrived crying and wrapped her arms around her grandfather.
“I thought I was going to lose you.”
Samuel gently held her.
“So did I.”
Then Emily noticed the wolf.
Her face went pale.
“Grandpa… that scar…”
Samuel nodded slowly.
“I saved him when he was a pup.”
But Emily shook her head.
“No… you don’t understand.”
She pulled an old journal from her backpack—her grandmother’s journal.
Inside was a faded photograph.
Samuel stared at it and stopped breathing.
It showed his late wife, Margaret, standing in the snow fifteen years earlier…
Holding the same injured wolf pup.
Under the photo, she had written:
“Samuel thinks he saved this little wolf. But really, I prayed this child of the forest would someday protect him when I no longer could.”
Samuel’s hands trembled.
The Alpha lowered its head one final time.
Then it turned and disappeared into the trees with the pack.
But that wasn’t the end.
Because three days later, while Victor Hale lay handcuffed in a hospital bed, his lawyer brought him terrible news.
The land he wanted so badly…
Did not belong to Samuel.
It had secretly been placed in a protected wildlife trust years ago.
And the legal owner of that trust was not Samuel.
It was Emily.
Victor had tried to murder an old man for land he could never own.
And the wolf he expected to kill Samuel…
May you like
Had been waiting fifteen years to save him.
