Chapter 10 - The Ultimate VictoryOne year to the day after the fateful dinner at Le Cygne where Julian had sat scrolling through his phone while ignoring me, I stood on the private penthouse balcony of Vance Global tower, looking out over the glittering expanse of the city skyline.

The air was crisp, scented with autumn and success. Down below, the city lights pulsed like a living organism—an empire that I owned, managed, and controlled entirely on my own terms.

Behind me, the glass doors slid open, and my assistant stepped out quietly, holding a silver tray with a flute of vintage champagne. "The global stakeholders' gala is about to begin downstairs, Elena. You're scheduled to give the keynote address."

"Thank you," I said, taking the crystal flute from the tray. I took a slow sip, letting the crisp, effervescent bubbles dance on my tongue.

I walked back inside, catching my reflection in the polished glass doors. The woman staring back was unrecognizable compared to the meek, sidelined wife of a year ago. There was no trace of fear, no hesitation, and no shadow of the man who had tried to discard me like old trash.

Julian was rotting in a federal prison cell, Chloe was scrubbing floors for pennies in a minimum-security facility, and I was standing at the absolute peak of the corporate world, holding all the cards, all the wealth, and all the power.

Let cheating husbands look down on their wives. They never realize that while they're busy looking down, the woman they're stepping on is busy building an empire beneath their feet—ready to pull the rug out the moment they least expect it.

I turned away from the glass, smoothed the front of my immaculate designer gown, and walked out to take my rightful place in the spotlight.
