CHAPTER 4 — The Farmer Found a Second Message
The next morning, the farmer thought the nightmare was over.
The wolves were gone.
The puppy was safe.
And Titan, the giant guardian dog, stood proudly at the gate like nothing had happened.
But then the puppy began digging.
Not randomly.
He dug at the same frozen spot near the old fence again and again.
Titan stood beside him, watching silently.
The farmer followed, confused.
After several minutes, his shovel struck metal.
Buried beneath the snow was a small tin box.
Inside was another photograph.
This time, it showed the little girl smiling beside the puppy.
Behind them stood a woman with tired eyes…
And a man the farmer recognized instantly.
His own younger brother.
The farmer’s hands began to shake.
His brother had disappeared eight years ago after a terrible family argument.
Everyone believed he had abandoned them.
But now the truth was lying in the snow.
The puppy wasn’t a stranger.
