CHAPTER 6 — The Tiny Puppy’s Secret

The farmer screamed.
Titan turned too late.
The alpha wolf lunged at the puppy.
But the puppy didn’t run away.
He stood his ground…
And barked.
It was small.
Weak.
Almost nothing.
But from the woods came an answering sound.
Not a howl.
Not a bark.
A whistle.
Then flashlight beams cut through the snowstorm.
Three rescue workers burst from the trees.
They had been searching for the crash site for days.
And the puppy had led them straight to the farm.
But that wasn’t the biggest shock.
One rescuer carried something wrapped in a thermal blanket.
A child’s mitten.
Then he said the words that made the farmer drop to his knees.
“We found footprints near the river. Small ones. A girl may still be alive.”
Titan lowered his head beside the puppy.
The wolves slowly disappeared into the trees.
For the first time, the farmer understood.
The puppy hadn’t come to the farm to be saved.
He had come to bring help.
Because somewhere in the frozen wilderness…
