CHAPTER 3 — The Photograph That Exposed a Monster

Jack ordered every guard into the mansion's grand hall.

Phones collected.

Weapons surrendered.

No one spoke.

The tension was unbearable.

A retired intelligence officer named Marcus began checking everyone's backgrounds.

Hours passed.

Nothing.

Every record appeared clean.

Too clean.

Meanwhile...

Evelyn wandered into the mansion library, hoping to calm her racing thoughts.

Old photographs covered one wall.

Carson family history stretching back nearly a century.

One picture caught her attention.

It showed Jack as a little boy standing beside his father...

And another man.

She frowned.

The man's face looked strangely familiar.

Very familiar.

Then her heart stopped.

She rushed upstairs carrying the photograph.

"Jack..."

He looked up.

"What is it?"

She placed the old picture beside one of the surveillance photos from Moonlight Café.

The room fell silent.

The same face.

Twenty-five years apart.

The smiling family member in the photograph...

Was the gold-toothed assassin who had confronted her in the café.

Impossible.

Jack stared at the images.

"No..."

Marcus whispered,

"Facial recognition."

Within seconds, the computer finished scanning.

99.8% MATCH.

Everyone froze.

The assassin hadn't been hired.

He was family.

Jack slowly sat down.

His breathing became heavier.

"My uncle..."

"No."

Marcus looked horrified.

"This goes much deeper."

He opened another hidden archive recovered from Jack's late father's private files.

One classified document changed everything.

Jack Carson...

Was never supposed to inherit the empire.

Because according to the original birth records...

He wasn't a Carson at all.

He had been secretly switched with another baby the night he was born.

Someone had manipulated an entire bloodline.

The Carson empire had been built on a lie for over thirty years.

Before anyone could process the revelation...

The mansion lights suddenly went dark.

Emergency generators failed.

Then...

A calm voice echoed through the security speakers.

"Good evening, Jack."

"I've waited thirty years for you to discover the truth."

"And now..."

"You've brought the only witness I couldn't find."

Every camera inside the mansion turned toward Evelyn.

The voice laughed softly.

"Kill the waitress."

"She remembers something even she doesn't know."

Outside...

May you like

Dozens of armed vehicles surrounded the estate.

The real war had finally begun.
