Chapter 10 - Happy Thanksgiving, ValentinoTwo months later, the crisp air of late November returned to New York.

Inside the private nursery of the Hudson Valley estate, sunlight poured through large bay windows, bathing the room in a warm, golden glow.

Elena sat in a velvet rocking chair, cradling her newborn son, Leo, close to her chest. The baby’s tiny fingers curled instinctively around her thumb, breathing softly in deep, peaceful sleep.

The grandfather clock in the hallway chimed softly.

Six o'clock.

Across the country, on a cold park bench in downtown Manhattan, a disgraced, penniless man sat shivering in a cheap wool coat, watching families walk past carrying shopping bags and roasting turkeys for the holiday.

Valentino pulled his coat tighter around his shoulders, staring blankly at the ground as the reality of his utter desolation settled over him like winter frost.

Back in the sunlit nursery, Elena looked down at her sleeping son, brushed a soft kiss against his dark curls, and whispered quietly into the empty room:

May you like

"Happy Thanksgiving, Valentino."

Author’s Note: Betrayal is never just a fracture in a relationship—it is an invitation to rebuild your entire world stronger, wiser, and entirely on your own terms. Never underestimate a woman who chooses her own peace over a gilded cage.
