Chapter 3 - Shadows in the BarracksNight fell over Outpost 41, but no one slept. The atmosphere in the barracks was electric with relief, yet shadowed by an underlying tension.

Inside the commander’s office, General Anna Vance sat behind the large wooden desk, running her fingers through her short, jagged hair. Lieutenant Trent, her trusted second-in-command who had arrived with the MP escort, entered with a secure laptop.
"Ma'am, we pulled the server logs from Miller's personal computer," Trent reported, his expression grim. "It's much worse than simple abuse of authority."
"Show me," Anna ordered.
Trent flipped the screen. "For the past three years, heavy weapons shipments passing through this border post have gone missing. Miller was filing false training exercise reports to cover up missing munitions. Over twenty tons of military-grade explosives were listed as 'destroyed in training' last month alone."
Anna's eyes narrowed. "He was selling them to the Red Syndicate."
Suddenly, the lights in the headquarters flickered and died. The entire base was plunged into total darkness.
