Chapter 1 - The Silence After the Thunder

The high-pitched double-chirp of the Ferrari’s engine alarm echoed off the pristine, polished Italian marble floor like a gunshot. The crimson beast—a $3.5 million ultra-limited hybrid hypercar—glistened under the blinding LED ceiling strips, its headlights flashing twice in recognition.
The showroom went dead silent.
The arrogant manager, Julian Vance, froze with his hand still hovering near the mechanic’s collar. His smug smirk melted away, replaced by a ghastly, pale hue. The high-society clients—tycoons sipping champagne, influencers live-streaming, and heiresses shopping for summer toys—stopped mid-sentence, their jaws dropped in absolute disbelief.
The man in the grease-stained, dusty gray jumpsuit didn't flinch. His name was Leo Vance—no relation to Julian, though destiny was about to weave their fates in blood and iron. Leo calmly tucked the sleek, carbon-fiber smart key back into his worn canvas bag.
"I can afford it..." Leo repeated, his voice low, steady, and carrying an terrifying weight that made the air in the room feel heavy. "...because I designed every single curve, every single cylinder, and every single line of code inside that engine."
Julian chuckled nervously, trying to salvage his shattered ego in front of his wealthy clientele. "Y-you're bluffing! You're just a low-level grease monkey from the local service bay! You stole that key! Guards! Arrest this trespasser!"
Two heavy-set security officers stepped forward, reaching for their batons. But before they could lay a finger on Leo, the glass doors of the executive suite slid open with a violent swoosh.
Out stepped Signor Marco Bellini, the Managing Director of Ferrari North America. His face was completely drained of color. He looked at Julian, then at the grease-covered man, and his knees visibly shook.
"Stop!" Bellini screamed, his voice cracking with sheer panic. "Touch him, and I will personally see to it that every single one of you dies in prison!"

Julian blinked in confusion. "Sir? He's a dirty technician ruining the paint job on the flagship model—"
"Shut up, you brainless fool!" Bellini roared, sprinting across the floor and bowing so low his forehead nearly touched Leo’s oil-stained steel-toe boots. "Welcome back, Chief Architect... Mr. Vance."
