Chapter 25 - Flight to ZurichThe transatlantic flight was long, silent, and suffocating.

As the private jet cut through the upper atmosphere above the North Atlantic, I sat alone in the leather cabin with the parchment letter resting on the mahogany table in front of me.

For years, I had believed that my ruthlessness was entirely my own creation—a survival mechanism forged in a cold, unforgiving corporate world. But looking at my father's jagged handwriting, the ugly truth began to surface. I hadn't invented the game of exploiting weakness; I had simply inherited it. Every acquisition, every aggressive market maneuver, every calculated indifference to human collateral was part of an inheritance I never asked for.

And now, I was flying across an ocean to settle accounts with a ghost.

When the jet touched down at Zurich Airport under a heavy, gray European drizzle, a black Mercedes town car arranged by Frank's local contacts was waiting on the tarmac.

The driver didn't speak. He handed me an encrypted burner phone, tipped his hat, and drove straight into the subterranean parking garage of the Zurich Federal Depository—an imposing fortress of reinforced concrete and hyper-secure Swiss banking vaults built deep into the bedrock beneath the financial district.

I stepped out of the car into the damp, echoing silence of the garage.

A single security officer in a sharp charcoal uniform stood waiting beside the heavy titanium vault door, holding a biometric verification scanner.

"Mr. Foster," the officer said in crisp, accented English. "We have been expecting you. The master vault is prepared."

I pulled the biometric key card—a heavy platinum token bearing my father's private insignia—from my pocket and placed it into the scanner's slot.

The green light flashed. The massive titanium door hissed, releasing decades of pressurized air, and slowly swung open, revealing the dark, silent corridor of the high-security vault within.

I took a deep breath, stepped across the threshold, and prepared to face whatever my family's dark legacy had left waiting for me in the dark.
