CHAPTER 4 – "The Birth Certificate That Changed Everything"
Ryan was being shoved into a police car when Sophia finally made her move.
"Wait!" she shouted.
Every officer turned.
Sophia slowly pulled a sealed envelope from her designer handbag.
"You should all see this before you arrest the wrong people."
The detective frowned.
"What is it?"
"A birth certificate."
Emily's heart skipped a beat.
Sophia handed the document to the detective with a confident smile.
His expression changed instantly.
He looked at Emily.
Then at Lily.
Then back at the paper.
Emily's voice shook.
"What does it say?"
The detective hesitated before answering.
"It says... Ryan Carter is not Lily's biological father."
Silence.
Ryan's eyes widened in disbelief.
"What?!"
Sophia folded her arms.
"I found it months ago in your mother's safe."
Emily stared at the document, completely speechless.
"That's impossible..."
Sophia smiled.
"Is it?"
Ryan turned toward Emily, his face burning with rage.
"You lied to me for seven years?"
Emily shook her head desperately.
"No! I've never seen that document before!"
Ryan exploded.
"You made me raise another man's child!"
He lunged toward Emily, but two officers pinned him against the patrol car.
"I'll kill you!" he screamed.
Emily couldn't breathe.
None of this made sense.
Then the detective noticed something strange.
The official seal on the birth certificate looked... different.
He examined it closely.
"Where did you get this?"
Sophia answered immediately.
"Ryan's mother kept it hidden."
The detective's eyes narrowed.
"Interesting..."
He pulled another document from his briefcase.
"The hospital already sent us Lily's original birth records this afternoon."
Sophia's smile disappeared.
The detective placed both documents side by side.
"They don't match."
Emily covered her mouth.
Ryan slowly looked at Sophia.
"What did you do?"
The detective held up the fake certificate.
"This seal was printed less than two weeks ago."
Sophia's face turned white.
"You forged it..." Ryan whispered.
Sophia took one step backward.
Then another.
Suddenly she turned and ran.
But before she reached the parking lot...
A black luxury SUV blocked her path.
The driver's door opened.
An elegant silver-haired woman stepped out.
Everyone—including Ryan—froze.
Ryan whispered in shock,
"...Mother?"

"You've been lying to my son. And now it's time everyone learns who Lily's real grandmother truly is..."
