Chapter 6

Emiliano made a decision no father should ever have to make.
He publicly announced that he was leaving the country again.
Every television station covered the story.
Business websites confirmed it.
Victor smiled when he saw the headlines.
Everything was going according to plan.
Except...
It was another lie.
Instead of boarding his private jet, Emiliano hid inside a secure command center with federal investigators.
His daughters were moved to a secret safe house.
Only Rosa stayed inside the mansion.
She volunteered.
"If Victor believes the girls are still here, he'll make his move."
Emiliano refused.
"It's too dangerous."
Rosa looked him in the eyes.
"I promised your wife I'd protect them."
That night...
At exactly 2:13 a.m...
The mansion's alarm silently activated.
Three masked figures climbed over the rear wall.
One of them removed his mask.
Victor Salazar.
The cameras captured everything.
He walked straight toward the children's bedrooms.
"They're asleep," he whispered.
"They'll never know what happened."
But when he opened the bedroom door...
The beds were empty.
The lights suddenly switched on.
More than thirty armed officers surrounded him.
"Federal agents! Don't move!"
Victor reached for his weapon—
A single voice stopped him.
"Game over."
It was Emiliano.
He stepped from the shadows, holding the original letter written by his late wife.
"I trusted you like a brother."
Victor slowly smiled.
"You trusted everyone..."
"...except the one woman who was saving your family."
He looked toward Rosa.
"You ruined years of planning."
Rosa answered calmly,
"No."
"You ruined your own life the day you chose greed over family."
Minutes later, Victor was led away in handcuffs.
As dawn broke over the mansion, Daniela quietly slipped her hand into Rosa's.
"Will you leave us now?"
Rosa smiled through tears.
"Only if you ask me to."
Martina immediately hugged her tightly.
"We're never letting you go."
Standing nearby, Emiliano finally understood that true loyalty isn't bought with wealth or power.
Sometimes...
It quietly protects your family while asking for nothing in return.

And this time...
He would never make the mistake of doubting it again.
