CHAPTER 1 – THE DOG THAT REFUSED TO OBEY

The old cabin had been silent for years.
No smoke rose from its chimney. No lights had glowed through its dusty windows. The locals called it the cursed house in the woods—a place children were warned to avoid after sunset.
But that afternoon, a terrified little girl named Lily came running out of the trees with tears streaming down her face.
Behind her thundered a massive German Shepherd.
Its powerful paws slammed against the dirt. Its deep bark echoed through the forest. To anyone watching, it looked like the dog was seconds away from tearing the frightened child apart.
Then a man stepped into the trail.
His name was Carter, a hunter known for never hesitating when danger appeared. Grabbing a thick wooden bat from his truck, he rushed toward the dog.
"GET AWAY FROM HER!"
The German Shepherd didn't retreat.
Instead, it planted itself between Carter and the little girl, growling—not at Lily...
...but at him.
The crowd gathering nearby froze.
"That dog has gone rabid!"
"Hit it before it attacks!"
Carter tightened his grip on the bat and charged forward.
Just as he swung...
The dog suddenly turned its head toward the woods and barked furiously, as if trying to warn everyone about something they couldn't see.
Lily screamed.
"No! Don't hurt him!"
Everyone stared.
The little girl threw her tiny arms around the enormous dog, crying uncontrollably.
"He saved me... He didn't chase me."
The entire crowd fell silent.
Then the bushes behind them began to move.
Slowly.
May you like
Something—or someone—was watching them from the darkness.
No one realized the real nightmare had only just arrived.
