CHAPTER 4 — The Woman Who Tried to Bury the Truth

Victoria Harrison watched the news from inside her penthouse, her face pale with rage.

On every screen, the same headline appeared:

HOMELESS MAN REVEALED AS MISSING BILLIONAIRE

She threw the remote across the room.

For ten years, she had built her empire on one lie.

She told investors her father was mentally unstable.

She told the board he had abandoned the company.

She told the public she was the only person strong enough to protect the Harrison name.

But now Richard was back.

And worse...

The whole world loved him.

Not as a billionaire.

But as the old man a little girl had fed beside a dumpster.

Victoria's lawyers begged her to stay silent.

Instead, she called a press conference.

Standing before dozens of cameras, dressed in black, she forced tears into her eyes.

"My father is confused," she said softly. "He is being manipulated by strangers who want his fortune."

Then she showed a photo of Emma.

"This child and her mother may look innocent, but we must ask who is really using him."

The room exploded with whispers.

By evening, the internet turned cruel.

People began attacking Emma's mother online.

They called her a gold digger.

They said she trained her daughter to target a rich old man.

Emma came home from school crying.

"Mom... why are people saying I did something bad?"

Her mother hugged her tightly, but she had no answer.

Across the city, Richard saw the broadcast.

His hands clenched around his cane.

For ten years, he had stayed quiet.

For ten years, he had let shame silence him.

But the moment Victoria attacked the child who had saved his dignity...

Something inside him changed.

He stood up and looked at his lawyer.

"Call every news station."

The lawyer blinked.

"Sir?"

Richard's voice was calm, but terrifying.

May you like

"My daughter wanted a war."

"Now she can have the truth."
