CHAPTER 3 — The Mastermind Behind the Wedding

Alexander drove through Dallas before sunrise.
The evidence lab was already waiting.
A forensic analyst pressed play.
The hotel hallway appeared on screen.
Carmen barked orders.
Six women laughed.
Javier paced nervously outside.
Everything matched Sofia's story.
Then...
A shadow crossed the hallway.
A tall man wearing a baseball cap handed Carmen an envelope.
She opened it.
Inside was a single sheet of paper.
Her expression instantly changed.
Fear.
Not anger.
Fear.
The analyst zoomed in.
Security software enhanced the image.
A logo appeared.
Alexander's face turned pale.
"No..."
The analyst looked confused.
"You know it?"
Alexander whispered,
"I created it."
Years earlier, Alexander had founded a private intelligence network for Fortune 500 corporations before selling his ownership.
Only a handful of people still had access.
Which meant someone with enormous influence had orchestrated the attack.
Not for the condo.
The condo had merely been bait.
Someone wanted Alexander himself to come out of hiding.
His phone rang again.
Unknown number.
He answered.
A distorted voice spoke calmly.
"Welcome back, Alexander."
"You took longer than expected."
Alexander's eyes narrowed.
"Who are you?"
The caller laughed softly.
"Think of me as the man who finished the game you walked away from ten years ago."
The line disconnected.
Back at the apartment, Sofia woke to dozens of missed calls.
News channels were already broadcasting footage from the hotel.
"Celebrity Attorney's Wedding Ends in Criminal Investigation."
"Luxury Family Accused of Assaulting Bride."
"Carmen Robles Taken Into Custody."
But then another headline appeared.
Anonymous Source Claims Powerful Businessman Is Secretly Connected to the Case.
Elena looked at Alexander.
"You aren't telling us everything."
He met her eyes.
"No."
"I'm telling you only what keeps you safe."
Outside, black SUVs silently stopped across the street.
Not police.
Not reporters.
Men in dark suits stepped out one by one.
Watching the apartment.
Waiting.
Alexander slowly closed the curtains.
Then he opened the safe he had hidden years ago.
Inside lay a passport under another name...
A loaded case file marked BLACK FILE...
And a sealed envelope with one handwritten sentence:
If anyone hurts Sofia, everything begins again.
Alexander looked at Elena and his daughter.
"They thought they started a family dispute."
His voice was colder than ice.
"They've started a war."
May you like
And none of them knew that the most dangerous enemy wasn't Carmen Robles anymore.
It was the person who had manipulated the entire wedding from the shadows... waiting for Alexander to make his first move.
