Chapter 7 - The Mastermind Unmasked and the Empress Rises

Six months later.
The sun shone brightly over the grand courtyard of the Garza-Valdés Global Headquarters in the heart of Mexico City. Thousands of press reporters, cameras, and business leaders gathered for the most anticipated corporate unveiling of the century.
Inside a luxury dressing room, Mariana stood before a full-length mirror.
She did not wear a generic designer dress forced on her by high-society stylists. Instead, she wore a breathtaking, regal navy-blue silk gown, custom-tailored with intricate gold embroidery along the cuffs and collar—the exact Garza family pattern she had sewn by hand months ago, now recreated with raw gold threads.
Alejandro walked into the room, wearing a proud, fatherly smile. He handed her a velvet box containing a magnificent diamond-encrusted signet ring bearing her family crest.
"Are you ready, CEO Garza?" Alejandro asked gently.
"I’ve been ready my whole life," Mariana replied, her voice firm and radiating unshakeable authority.
"What about Ricardo and Don Héctor?" she asked as she slipped the ring onto her finger.
Alejandro chuckled dryly. "Don Héctor’s entire syndicate was dismantled. He will spend the rest of his natural life in a maximum-security prison. As for your ex-husband..."
Alejandro pulled out his tablet and showed her a photo.
Ricardo Salazar—wearing a bright orange prison jumpsuit, his hair shaved, looking gaunt and broken—was shown holding a mop, cleaning the dirty concrete floors of the state penitentiary under the watchful eye of armed guards.
"He was sentenced to 45 years without parole," Alejandro explained. "And ironically... the prison uniforms are made of the cheapest, roughest synthetic fabric available. He complains every single day that his clothes feel like trash."
Mariana looked at the photo for a brief second, felt zero pity, and turned away.
"Let him sweep," Mariana said smoothly. "He finally found a job that matches his intelligence."
Together, Mariana and Alejandro walked out onto the grand balcony overlooking the city. The roar of applause from thousands of people erupted into the air. Banners hung from skyscrapers displaying Mariana’s face alongside the slogan: "NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE WOMAN WHO BUILT YOUR FOUNDATION."
Mariana stepped up to the podium, looking out over the world she had reclaimed. She touched the gold embroidery on her dress, adjusted the microphone, and smiled with radiant power.
"They told me to hide in the back," Mariana announced to the world, her voice echoing across the plaza and through millions of television screens worldwide. "They told me my clothes were cheap, my voice was meaningless, and my place was in the shadows. To every woman listening today who has been silenced, minimized, or forced to hide her brilliance... step into the light. Because the hands that sew the clothes are the very hands capable of ruling the empire."

The applause deafened the city.
The woman who was ordered to hide at the gala had officially become the undisputed Empress of the business world—while the man who tried to destroy her was left in the dirt, serving the very sentence his own arrogance had written.
