📜 CHAPTER 2: The 47th Floor Showdown

Adrian refused to sign.

Three days later, my lawyer delivered the divorce papers to his executive office at Villareal Prime Holdings in BGC. Adrian tore them to shreds. We sent a second copy; he burned it.

So, I brought the third copy myself.

When I reached the 47th floor, his assistant, Noel, tried to bar my way. "Ma'am Lucia, please, Sir Adrian is in a high-stakes board meeting with senior investors!"

"Perfect," I said, pushing past him. "Then everyone can hear it together."

I threw the heavy mahogany doors open. Inside sat the entire board of directors, legal counsel, and multi-million-dollar investors. Adrian stood at the head of the long table. When he saw me, his eyes flashed with pure fury.

"What are you doing here? Security—"

SLAM. I threw the divorce papers directly onto his laptop.

"Before you rip this one up too, Adrian," I said, loud enough for the microphone to catch my voice, "I think the board should see exactly what kind of man is leading this company."

I pulled out a sleek black USB drive and shoved it into the boardroom laptop before his tech team could react. The massive projector screen behind him flickered to life.

"You told me you were in Cebu on Valentine’s Day," I said calmly. "But Bianca Reyes checked into a presidential suite in a Pasay hotel that night. And she wasn't alone."

Adrian’s face lost all color. "Lucia, stop this right now!"

But the video was already playing. It showed the hotel hallway. Bianca was laughing, wrapped in the arms of a tall man. But as the man turned to face the camera to key into the room... the entire boardroom gasped.

Adrian gripped the edge of the table so hard his knuckles turned white.

Because the man kissing my best friend was not Adrian.

It was Julian Villareal—Adrian’s younger brother, the black sheep of the family who had just returned from abroad.

"She’s been playing you for a fool, Adrian," I whispered into the stunned silence. "And now, the DNA results from the hospital are ready. Shall we go find out whose son that really is?"
