CHAPTER 6 — The Grandmother's Offer

The meeting took place inside an empty art museum after closing hours.

Marble floors.

Silent galleries.

No witnesses.

Eleanor arrived alone.

Elegant as always.

She smiled as though nothing had happened.

"I'm glad you've finally become reasonable."

Olivia remained standing.

"You threatened my child."

Eleanor sighed.

"You still believe emotions matter."

"They don't."

"Power does."

She slid a leather folder across the table.

Inside...

Bank statements.

Trust agreements.

Corporate ownership papers.

Everything Nathan had controlled.

"It all becomes yours."

Olivia frowned.

"Why would you give me this?"

"Because I don't care about the company anymore."

"I care about one thing."

"My grandson."

Olivia's voice turned cold.

"Gabriel?"

Eleanor slowly shook her head.

"No."

"Noah."

Olivia's heart nearly stopped.

"You've had him all this time."

Eleanor smiled.

"I've raised him."

"I protected him."

"I made him worthy of the Bennett name."

Olivia's hands trembled with rage.

"You stole him."

"I saved him."

"No."

"You kidnapped a child."

Eleanor leaned forward.

"You still don't understand."

She opened the final page inside the folder.

It contained another DNA report.

Official.

Certified.

Recently dated.

Olivia looked at the final result.

Then her entire world collapsed.

The report proved that Noah...

Was Olivia's biological son.

Not Gabriel.

The hospital hadn't switched one baby.

They had switched both.

Before Olivia could even breathe...

The museum lights suddenly went dark.

Every hallway fell silent.

Then a child's frightened voice echoed through the darkness.

"Mom..."

Olivia spun toward the sound.

"Noah?"

A small flashlight flickered on at the far end of the gallery.

A terrified little boy stood there.

Dirty.

Thin.

Clutching Nathan's wedding ring.

Before Olivia could reach him...

A masked man grabbed the child from behind.

The flashlight hit the floor.

Darkness swallowed everything.

Then...

May you like

One gunshot echoed through the museum.

And someone screamed.
