Chapter 3 - THE VAULT OF SECRETSZapopan, Jalisco—midday.

The sprawling estate of the Villaseñor family, usually a quiet sanctuary of manicured lawns and towering white security gates, was now surrounded by unmarked federal vehicles and flashing red-and-blue lights. Neighbors peered through sheer curtains, whispering behind closed blinds as armed investigators swarmed the property.
Inside the grand study, federal agent Commander Mateo Garza—ironically sharing the same name as Daniela's infant son—stood before an open, reinforced steel safe built directly into the wood-paneled wall.
The contents of the safe laid bare a criminal enterprise operating in plain sight beneath the veneer of old-money aristocracy.
Rows upon rows of imported equine pharmaceuticals, hormone regulators, and heavy veterinary sedatives lined the shelves. But beside them sat thick manila folders, ledgers, and digital hard drives labeled with names, shipping manifests, and financial transactions stretching back over a decade.
Teresa Villaseñor sat handcuffed in an antique leather armchair, her high heels kicked off, her designer silk blouse rumpled. Her face was drained of its haughty color, replaced by a mask of bitter, unyielding malice.
"You're ruining generations of legacy over a batch of harmless animal supplements," Teresa spat, her voice trembling with venom as she glared at Commander Garza. "Do you have any idea who my husband's associates are? You'll all be stripped of your badges by sundown."
Garza didn't even flinch. He picked up a small, crystal-clear glass vial filled with a dense amber liquid from the safe and held it up to the light.
"Mrs. Villaseñor, these aren't just harmless supplements," Garza said calmly, pulling a digital tablet from his tactical vest. "According to our preliminary intelligence, your network has been importing restricted veterinary-grade growth stimulants and neuro-sedatives from Eastern Europe under the guise of agricultural imports. You've been cutting them, rebranding them with fake pediatric labels, and distributing them through high-end black-market channels to elite nurseries across Jalisco."
Teresa sneered, tilting her chin up with defiant arrogance. "Prove it. Show me where a single drop touched a human child."
Garza tapped the screen of his tablet, pulling up a secure database file, and turned it toward her.

"We don't need to look far, Teresa. Your own daughter-in-law's home was your testing ground. And your grandson, Mateo, was scheduled to be your next permanent patient."
Teresa’s breath hitched. For the first time, absolute terror flickered in her eyes.
