Chapter 10 - Dawn Over the HarborThe sun broke over the eastern horizon, painting the harbor in brilliant strokes of gold, amber, and deep rose.

The winter garden of my estate was bathed in morning light. The glass ceiling captured the warmth of the new day, making the imported trees and marble fountains gleam as if they had been washed clean of all the blood and lies that had haunted them for eight years.
I stood near the edge of the central fountain, my boots planted firmly on the marble. I didn't need a cane. I didn't need a wheelchair. My legs were strong, steady, and alive.
Footsteps echoed softly behind me.
I turned around.
Lily walked down the stone pathway, her sneakers crunching softly against the gravel. She was wearing her oversized hoodie, but the silver necklace with the twin dolphins was resting openly against her chest, catching the morning light.
She stopped a few feet away from me, looking up with a mixture of awe and childish curiosity.
"Are you still going to be the Harbor King?" she asked, tilting her head. "Or are you just going to be... dad?"
A warmth I hadn't felt in a decade bloomed in my chest. I knelt down, ignoring the brief ache in my knees, until I was eye-level with her.
"I think," I said, offering a genuine, unreserved smile, "I can be both."
May you like
Lily grinned, her hazel eyes sparkling with mischief, and threw her arms around my neck, burying her face in my shoulder. For the first time in eight years, the ghosts of the past were finally put to rest, and my world felt entirely complete.
I held my daughter close, standing tall under the open sky, knowing that the storm had finally passed.
