CHAPTER 3 – The Doors Opened

The entire restaurant turned toward the entrance.
Three men in dark suits stepped inside, followed by an elderly gentleman with silver hair and a leather folder in his hands.
Victoria’s face changed.
She knew that man.
Everyone in the restaurant knew him.
It was Edward Harrington, the billionaire owner of the entire restaurant chain.
Victoria immediately forced a nervous smile.
“Mr. Harrington… what a surprise! I wasn’t expecting you tonight.”
But Edward didn’t smile back.
He walked straight past her and stopped beside the young woman in the wheelchair.
Then, in front of every guest, he gently lowered his head.
“Madam President,” he said respectfully, “we’re ready whenever you are.”
The room went completely silent.
Victoria’s mouth fell open.
“Madam… President?”
The young woman slowly removed her sunglasses.
Her calm eyes swept across the room.
“My name is Amelia Harrington,” she said softly. “And as of this morning, I became the new owner of this restaurant.”
