CHAPTER 8 – The Surprise No One Saw Coming

One month later, Le Château Royale held its grand reopening.
This time, the entrance featured elegant ramps, automatic doors, accessible seating, and a plaque near the front that read:
"Everyone Is Welcome Here."
The dining room was completely full.
But one seat remained empty.
It was reserved for a very special guest.
When Amelia entered, every employee stopped working.
Marina walked forward with a warm smile.
"Welcome home."
The entire restaurant burst into applause.
Then Edward stepped onto a small stage.
"I have one final announcement."
He looked at Marina.
"Because of your courage, compassion, and integrity, the Board of Directors has unanimously approved your promotion."
Marina stared in disbelief.
"You are now the General Manager of Le Château Royale."
The room erupted with cheers.
Tears streamed down Marina's face.
She hugged Amelia tightly.
"I only did what was right."
Amelia smiled.
"And that's exactly why you deserve to lead."
As dinner began, Amelia looked around the room.
Families laughed together.
Children in wheelchairs rolled freely between the tables.
No one stared.
No one whispered.
Everyone simply belonged.
For Amelia, that was worth more than every luxury decoration in the restaurant.
