Chapter 16 - Blood Against Blood

Red emergency lights flashed throughout the underground complex. The steel walls shuddered as dozens of heavily armed cybernetic mercenaries flooded into the command room.
"Protocol Zero wipes every bank account in the world in ten minutes," Julian sneered. "The global economy will collapse, and only those with my private crypto-key will survive. Simone, join me, or watch your lover die right here."
Simone looked at Adrienne. Adrienne looked back at her, a silent message passing between them—the same silent language they had used for five years in that Manhattan office.
Without a word, Simone pulled out her tablet—the exact same model she used to carry as his secretary.
"You forgot one thing, Father," Simone said coldly.
Julian scoffed. "What could I possibly forget?"
"You built the system," Simone smiled, her fingers dancing across her tablet screen with terrifying speed. "But I spent five years optimizing it. You taught me how to manage a mafia empire, but Adrienne taught me how to destroy one."
With a single tap, Simone redirected the entire override protocol. The command monitors turned crimson.
