Chapter 19 - Judgment Day
GUNFIRE EXPLODED IN THE DARK.
Flashes of light illuminated the high-stakes room. Adrienne and Simone moved like a unified hurricane. Adrienne cleared Julian's guards with brutal hand-to-hand combat, while Simone locked down the casino’s vault doors, trapping Julian’s reinforcements outside.
When the emergency lights flickered back on, Julian was crawling toward the exit, bleeding, his power stripped away, his empire destroyed.
Simone walked up to him, the heels of her golden shoes clicking heavily against the marble floor. She pointed her gun directly at her father's forehead.
"Simone..." Julian whimpered, his cold arrogance completely shattered. "I am your father... I gave you life..."
"You gave me a life of hiding in the shadows," Simone whispered, tears finally welling in her eyes—not of weakness, but of ultimate closure. "Adrienne gave me a life where I could finally be seen."
Julian reached into his jacket for a hidden backup detonator.
BANG.
Simone pulled the trigger without hesitation.
Julian Carter collapsed onto the cold marble floor, his eyes wide, forever silent. The legacy of the Iron Ledger was finally dead.

Adrienne walked up behind her, gently wrapping his strong arms around her waist, taking the heavy weapon from her hand, and pulling her into his chest. Simone buried her face in his neck, sobbing softly as five years of pain, fear, and burden finally melted away into his warm embrace.
