Chapter 2 - Shadows of the Syndicate

The mansion was in total lockdown. Red emergency lights bathed the marble hallways in a bloody glow. Victor stormed into his security command center, his face purple with rage.

"How is she still alive?!" he screamed at his head of security, Marco. "She was a civilian! A nobody! A schoolteacher!"

"She lied about her identity, Boss," Marco stammered, his hands trembling over the keyboard. "We just bypassed her encrypted files. Sofia isn't a teacher. She is Sofia Volkova. The estranged daughter of the late Russian Bratva kingpin. She underwent deep-cover tactical training before disappearing five years ago. She came to your territory on purpose."

Victor’s blood ran cold. He hadn't trapped a helpless woman. He had invited a trojan horse into his most secure compound.

Suddenly, the lights went dead. Total darkness.

Over the intercom system, a static hiss echoed, followed by Sofia’s calm, chilling voice. "Victor. You killed my brother for his territory. You thought I came here to beg for mercy? I came to collect his debt."

Gunfire erupted from the southern wing of the mansion. Sofia was moving through the dark like a ghost, utilizing the very dogs Victor had used to terrorize her. The German Shepherds moved silently, flushing out guards from the shadows, while Sofia neutralized them with terrifying, silent efficiency. She wasn't just trying to escape; she was systematically dismantling Victor’s entire inner circle, floor by floor. Victor grabbed a gold-plated desert eagle from his desk. "Find her!" he shrieked. "Bring me her head!"
