Chapter 15 - The Duca LegacyThe sun rose over Boston the next morning with a brilliant, golden intensity, signaling the start of a new chapter for the Duca family.

At the headquarters of Duca Global Enterprises downtown, the executive boardroom was filled with senior partners, legal advisors, and city officials. But today’s meeting wasn't about shipping routes or real estate acquisitions.

It was the annual board meeting of the Sophie Duca Foundation—a massive philanthropic initiative dedicated to providing safe housing, medical care, and career rehabilitation for vulnerable mothers and victims of abuse across the East Coast.

Sophie stood at the head of the polished glass conference table, presenting the quarterly impact report with a poise, intelligence, and commanding grace that commanded absolute silence from the room.

Sitting quietly in the corner of the room, leaning back with his arms crossed and a look of quiet, unfathomable pride in his dark eyes, was Matteo.

He didn't run the room anymore; she did. And he had never been happier to watch her shine.

"Thanks to our expanded outreach programs in three new states," Sophie concluded smoothly, clicking to the final slide on the projector screen, "we have successfully helped over four thousand women reclaim their independence, rebuild their lives, and find safety where there was once only fear."

The room erupted into respectful, thunderous applause.

As the meeting adjourned and the executives filed out, Matteo walked over to her, pulling her gently into his arms right there by the panoramic window overlooking the city skyline.

"Four thousand," Matteo murmured, kissing her forehead. "You are changing the world, Sophie."

"No," she smiled, wrapping her arms around his neck, her diamond and black pearl ring catching the sunlight. "We are."
