Rosa watched him. She watched him shed the skin of the "Billionaire" and become a man—a father. The armor was gone.
"I don't care about the money anymore," he told her one night while they sat by the bed. "I never did. I just wanted to be the man you deserved. But I was so busy building a pedestal that I forgot to build a home."
Rosa touched his cheek. She saw the gray in his hair, the exhaustion in his eyes. She realized that they were both victims of his father’s machinations. The distance between them wasn't lack of love; it was a fortress of secrets built by someone else.
