Chapter 6 - THE SABOTAGEVictoria wasn't just gone; she was planning. She had discovered the truth about the "business crisis" that had pulled Ethan away years ago. It wasn't an emergency—it was a coup orchestrated by his own father to force him into a marriage alliance with the Haynes family.

Victoria tracked down the documents—the proof that Ethan’s father had paid someone to make Rosa disappear, to threaten her, to force her to leave.

She didn't take these to the police. She took them to Rosa.

"He didn't leave you because he wanted to," Victoria said, dropping a manila folder on the kitchen table, her voice dripping with venom. "He was forced. His father threatened to ruin your family if you stayed. He sacrificed his happiness for your safety."

Rosa’s hands shook as she opened the folder. The evidence was there—bank transfers, recorded threats, the dirty dealings of the Caldwell patriarch.

"Why are you telling me this?" Rosa asked, looking up.

Victoria smiled, a cold, predatory look. "Because if I can't have him, I want to watch him burn from the inside. I want you to know the truth so you can hate him for the right reasons. Because he kept this secret, too."

Rosa felt her world tilt. Ethan hadn't left because he didn't care. He had left to save her. And in his arrogance, he had stayed silent, thinking he was protecting her, when he was actually destroying the only trust they had left.
