As the music played and the champagne flowed, Ethan stepped onto the stage. He didn't make a speech about business. He pulled a microphone forward and signaled to the projectors.
A video started playing. It wasn't a business presentation. It was a recording—his father’s voice, confessing to the threats, the bribery, and the order to force Rosa away. It was a digital suicide note for his father's reputation.
The room erupted in chaos. Reporters recorded everything. His father’s partners scrambled for the exit, their shares in the company crashing in real-time.
But Ethan wasn't finished. He looked at Rosa, who stood by the side of the stage.
"I wanted to marry you," he said, the entire room falling silent. "Not for business. Not for the cameras. But because you are the only home I’ve ever known."
He knelt down, not with a ring of diamonds, but with a simple, silver band he had kept from their university days.
"Rosa Martinez, will you forgive me for all the years I spent being a stranger?"
