Chapter 4 - Blood in the Brickwork"Stay here," Dominic commanded, his voice dropping into an icy, lethal register that made the temperature in the room plummet.

"What's happening?" Claire panicked, moving toward the door.

"Lock it," Dominic ordered, drawing a sleek, suppressed 9mm pistol from his shoulder holster with terrifying speed.

Before Claire could react, Dominic slipped out of the office, pulling the door shut behind him. The main hall of Harbor House was chaos. Two folding tables had been overturned. Splintered wood littered the floor.

Three men in tactical black gear stood in the center of the room, holding automatic weapons. They weren't low-level street thugs; they carried themselves with the lethal precision of professional mercenaries.

"Clear the back!" one of them shouted.

Dominic stepped out from the hallway shadows, blending seamlessly into the dark corners. His face was a mask of cold fury.

"You're standing on private property," Dominic said smoothly.

The three men spun around, raising their weapons, but they were half a second too slow.

Pfft. Pfft. Pfft.

The suppressed pistol coughed three times in rapid succession. Three precise shots. Three targets neutralized instantly, dropping to the polished concrete floor without a single scream.

Dominic stepped over the bodies, his eyes locked on the open front door. A sleek black SUV was idling outside in the rain. In the driver's seat, a man was holding a radio.

Dominic yanked the door open, grabbed the driver by his collar, and dragged him violently out onto the wet pavement. He slammed the man's head against the side of the vehicle with a sickening crunch.

"Who sent you?" Dominic demanded, pressing the barrel of his gun directly beneath the man's jaw.

"Wait—wait! Don't shoot!" the mercenary choked out, coughing up blood. "It was... it was Salvatore! The Chicago syndicate! They know Vincent is dead! They want the Boston territory, and they found out about the money laundering pipeline through Harbor House! They wanted to burn it down to send you a message!"

Dominic’s eyes turned pitch black. Salvatore thought the Vale empire was ripe for the taking now that the old man was gone. They thought they could touch what his father had protected.

"Give my regards to Chicago," Dominic whispered.

He pulled the trigger.
