Chapter 2 - The Sealed File and the General's VowJudge Harrison hurriedly opened the red-stamped folder, his eyes scanning the first page. As he read further, the color completely vanished from his face. His hands began to tremble slightly, a bead of sweat forming on his brow.

"This..." Judge Harrison swallowed hard, looking up at the General in sheer disbelief. "Are these authentic?"
"Every word, Judge," General Thorne replied evenly. He turned his piercing gaze toward the jury box, then back to the defense table where I sat, completely calm. "Captain Clara Vance isn't just a veteran, Your Honor. She is the sole surviving officer of Operation Iron Veil—a black-ops counter-intelligence initiative that dismantled a multi-billion-dollar international syndicate funneling illegal weapons to America's enemies."
A collective gasp swept through the courtroom gallery.
Julian leaped to his feet, panic overriding his judgment. "Objection! This is a fake! She paid them off! She's a fraud, she made all of this up!"
General Thorne slowly pivoted on his heel, fixing Julian with a glare so intense it looked capable of setting paper on fire. "Sit down, boy," Thorne commanded quietly, the sheer lethal weight in his tone freezing Julian in his tracks. "When I was pulling Captain Vance out of a burning helicopter wreckage in Kandahar while bleeding from three separate shrapnel wounds, you were probably sitting in a private boarding school crying because your allowance was late."
The courtroom erupted into a chaotic storm of shouts and murmurs. Reporters in the back rows frantically scribbled notes, realizing they were witnessing a historical scandal unfold in real time.

My attorney leaned back in his chair, letting out a long, shaky breath, staring at me as if he were seeing a ghost. "Clara... what aren't you telling me?"
"Just watch, counsel," I whispered, resting my chin on my hand. "The trap hasn't even sprung yet."
