Chapter 12 - The Crown of Blood

Two weeks later, the grand ballroom of the Vane estate was once again filled with the elite capos, high-ranking councilmen, and loyal syndicates of the eastern seaboard. But the atmosphere was entirely different from that fateful night of the banquet. There was no tension, no whispered conspiracies, and no doubt.
At the center of the room sat Estelle in her ornate, velvet-cushioned banquet chair, her head held high, radiating absolute authority.
Standing before the elevated dais, Leandro wore a tailored black tuxedo, the heavy silver chain from that infamous night now melted down and forged into a sleek, understated signet ring resting proudly on his finger.
Daphne stood to his right, her posture rigid, her eyes scanning the room with sharp vigilance. Every threat had been neutralized; every corrupted asset had been purged from the system.
As the grandfather clock struck midnight, Leandro raised a crystal glass of amber whiskey, addressing the silent, expectant assembly.
“The Vane family has weathered storms, betrayals, and internal war,” Leandro announced, his voice carrying effortlessly across the vast ballroom. “We stand today not because of our bloodline, but because of our absolute loyalty to one another. The past is buried in ash. Our future is carved in iron.”

The councilmen raised their glasses in unison, a chorus of deep approval echoing off the vaulted marble walls.
Estelle looked out over the sea of powerful men and women bowing their heads to her son, a quiet, knowing smile touching her lips. The throne was secure. The bloodline was unbroken. And the empire of shadows finally belonged to them.
