Chapter 6 - THE TABLES TURNAs Eleanor sobbed uncontrollably against the arm of the sofa, her makeup running in dark streaks down her cheeks, Vance walked slowly over to Maria.

The imposing billionaire looked down at the young maid, his cold expression softening into something resembling genuine respect.
"I apologize for the ordeal you've been put through, Maria," Vance said, his voice deep and steady. "My name is Arthur Vance. I’ve been tracking this criminal’s financial network for over a year, waiting for him to make a fatal mistake. Using you as his scapegoat was his final undoing."
Maria wiped a stray tear from her cheek, still trying to process the sheer scale of what was happening. "Mr. Vance... does this mean I'm... I'm not going to jail?"
"Jail?" Arthur let out a short laugh. "Not a chance. In fact, you played a crucial role in bringing down one of the most sophisticated financial predators in the country. The state owes you an apology, not handcuffs."
Julian, struggling in the grip of one of the tactical guards who had slapped a pair of heavy steel handcuffs onto his wrists, glared daggers at Arthur. "You think you've won, Vance? You think freezing my assets means anything? My offshore accounts are untouchable! I still have enough tucked away to—"

"To do what? Buy a prison cell in maximum security?" Arthur interrupted, pulling out his smartphone and tapping the screen. "While you were busy trying to frame Maria, my cyber-security division seized your primary Cayman Islands server cluster at 8:00 PM sharp. Every cent you stole has been frozen and flagged for international asset recovery."
Julian’s knees buckled. The fight completely left him. He dropped his head, the heavy weight of absolute defeat crashing down upon his shoulders as he realized his empire of lies had crumbled to dust in less than an hour.
