Chapter 19 - The Blueprint of TomorrowTwo years after the day her wedding dissolved into dust, Evelyn Carter sat at her executive desk, reviewing the final structural proposals for Carter & Vance’s new international headquarters in London.

The office was bathed in the warm, golden light of an autumn afternoon.
On her desk, framed neatly in brushed silver, sat a photograph. It wasn't a wedding portrait, and it certainly wasn't an old Polaroid of a ghost from her past.
It was a picture taken on the opening night of the waterfront park: Evelyn and Marcus standing side by side on the glass terrace, laughing under a canopy of twinkling lights and green branches.
Her phone chimed gently.
She picked it up. A text message from Marcus popped up on the screen: Dinner at 8:00 PM? My treat. We have a global merger to celebrate.
Evelyn smiled, her fingers dancing across the screen as she typed her reply: It’s a date.
