Chapter 24 - The Private CelebrationFollowing the keynote address, an exclusive private gala was held on the rooftop terrace of a luxury hotel overlooking the illuminated skyline of London.

Evelyn stood near the glass railing, holding a glass of sparkling water, enjoying the cool evening breeze.
Footsteps approached softly, and Marcus joined her, holding two flutes of vintage champagne. He offered one to her with a warm, approving grin.
“Well, Evelyn. You completely knocked them dead tonight,” Marcus said, clinking his glass gently against hers. “The head of the British Architects Association was just asking me if we’d consider opening a permanent design academy here in London.”
“Let’s not get ahead of ourselves,” Evelyn laughed softly, taking a sip of her drink. “Though… a European academy doesn't sound like a bad long-term strategy.”
Marcus leaned against the railing beside her, his expression turning thoughtful. “You were incredible up there tonight, you know. Talking about the past like that… taking ownership of the narrative.”
“It’s not a narrative anymore, Marcus,” Evelyn replied, looking out over the glittering Thames. “It’s just history. The ruins were cleared away a long time ago.”

Marcus turned his head, his gaze softening as he looked at her under the London starlight. “Then I suppose it’s time to look forward to what we’re building next.”
Evelyn turned to meet his gaze, a quiet, profound understanding passing between them. The partnership that had forged their business empire had quietly, naturally blossomed into something much deeper—a bond built on mutual respect, shared trials, and an unbreakable trust.
