Just as the smoke cleared over the estate and peace felt within reach, an armored envoy bearing the crest of the Romanov Syndicate—the ancient European high council superior even to the Vance empire—arrived at the iron gates. They hadn't come to wage war on Dante; they had come for me.
The envoy's commander dropped a heavy leather ledger sealed with molten gold onto our mahogany table. He revealed that my long-lost biological father was not a poor dock worker as I’d been told, but Viktor Romanov, the supreme ruler of the Northern Syndicate whose global fortune exceeded tens of billions.
David hadn't found me by accident six years ago. He had been bribed by a rival European family to keep me impoverished, isolated, and completely unaware of the crown waiting for me across the ocean.

Dante stood beside me, his hands resting on my shoulders. There was no jealousy in his eyes—only a fierce, terrifying pride. “My wife does not need to leave to claim her empire,” Dante declared coldly. “We will merge our bloodlines, and anyone who questions her lineage will answer to my guns.”
