Chapter 12 - EX-FIANCÉ’S RESURRECTION: THE DEAD MAN WHO RETURNED FOR HER CROWN

David was supposed to be decaying on a penal ship in international waters, but money could break any chain. Backed by the rival Syndicate faction trying to seize the Romanov seat, David ambushed our armed motorcade on the winding mountain roads outside the estate.
Heavy trucks rammed our escort vehicles, setting off a firefight that echoed through the valley. Through the smoke, David stepped out, dressed in a sharp suit bought with traitor’s money, holding a signed legal document from six years ago.
“She is still my legal wife under international law!” David screamed over the sound of automatic gunfire, pointing a finger at me inside the bulletproof glass. “I signed those papers! Her inheritance belongs to me, and that bastard kid goes into my custody until the funds are released!”
I didn't wait for Dante or the guards to step in. I opened the heavy SUV door, stepped directly into the live fire, and pulled Dante’s silver sidearm from my shoulder holster.

I marched straight toward David, the cold rain washing over my face. Before he could raise his arm, I fired three round bursts into the pavement an inch from his designer shoes, shattering the asphalt into his shins.
“I am not the helpless girl with taped shoes you robbed six years ago, David,” I hissed, racking the slide with cold precision. “You touch my son or my money again, and the next bullet goes right through your throat.”
