Chapter 5 - The Corporate ExecutionThe silence in the showroom was suffocating.

Marcus Vance remained on his knees beside his daughter, his brain desperately trying to process the nightmare unfolding around him. The brilliant, untouchable empire he had spent thirty years building through backroom deals, aggressive takeovers, and ruthless ambition had been utterly dismantled, legally and cleanly, by a college student in canvas shoes.
Maya walked slowly toward them, her heels clicking softly against the marble floor. She looked down at Marcus, her expression completely devoid of pity.
"Mr. Vance," Maya began, her voice carrying a calm, lethal authority that commanded the attention of every single person in the room. "When your daughter slapped me earlier, she screamed that I didn't belong in a place like this. She was right, in a way. I don't belong in a world built on cruelty, arrogance, and stolen money."
Marcus opened his mouth to speak, but no words came out. His tongue felt dry as dust.
"Thirty minutes ago," Maya continued, holding up her black tablet once more, "your chief financial officer sent an encrypted whistleblowing email to my father’s compliance department. He attached complete ledgers detailing how Vance Real Estate systematically diverted millions of dollars intended for low-income housing projects into offshore accounts—accounts registered under Elena’s name."
Elena gasped, her eyes snapping toward her father in sheer betrayal. "Daddy? You put those funds in my name? Without telling me?!"
"Shut up, you fool!" Marcus snapped in panic, losing his temper completely.
"Too late for damage control, Mr. Vance," Maya said coldly. "The documents have already been forwarded to the federal prosecutor's office, along with the complete asset seizure warrants signed by the federal judge. Federal marshals are currently freezing all of your personal bank accounts, seizing your mansion, and towing your luxury vehicles as we speak."
As if on cue, the sound of heavy sirens echoed loudly from the street outside. Through the floor-to-ceiling glass windows, everyone inside the showroom watched in stunned silence as a convoy of federal law enforcement vehicles pulled up directly in front of the boutique. Armed agents in tactical gear poured out of the vans, surrounding the building and securing the perimeter.
Chloe and Beatrice, realizing they were standing too close to the sinking ship, tried to quietly slip toward the side exit.
"Don't even think about it," Henderson said smoothly, blocking their path with an immovable expression. "Miss Sterling hasn't finished her inventory check of the people in this room."
Chloe burst into hysterical tears, sinking to the floor in a heap of designer silk. "We didn't do anything! We just laughed! It was Elena who hit her! Please, Miss Sterling, we're innocent bystanders!"
Maya turned her gaze slowly toward Chloe and Beatrice. A faint, ironic smile played on her lips.
"Innocent bystanders," Maya repeated softly. "Is that what you call yourselves? The security cameras in this store record audio and high-definition video at sixty frames per second. Every cruel remark, every mocking laugh, and every encouraging cheer you shouted while I was being humiliated has been permanently archived."
Maya stepped closer to the two terrified socialites, her presence overpowering.

"Starting tomorrow morning," Maya said, her voice dropping to a low, chilling whisper, "every corporate sponsor, fashion house, and charity board that currently employs or associates with your families will receive a complete dossier of today's events. Sterling Capital holds significant shares in your fathers' companies as well. I think a thorough compliance audit into your families' tax histories is long overdue."
Chloe and Beatrice collapsed completely, sobbing uncontrollably as their entire social world crumbled around them into dust.
