Ren sat at her custom drafting desk, her fingers deftly manipulating a 3D holographic projection of an advanced quantum encryption shield—a project she had designed entirely on her own, combining her father’s mathematical genius with an ethical framework built on absolute protection rather than corporate control.
Nova burst into the room, holding a freshly printed blueprint of her own. "Gideon says if we can finish the prototype by Tuesday, we can test it in the main showroom window!"
Ren looked up from her holograph, a sharp, confident smile playing on her lips. "Tell him the code is already compiled. We don't miss deadlines."
Downstairs in the office, Gideon stood by the window, watching the city traffic flow smoothly along 4th Avenue. The past was no longer a shadow haunting the edges of his vision; it was simply history—a discarded draft of a story that had finally found its true ending.
The heavy oak door opened behind him, and two pairs of footsteps approached with the familiar, synchronized rhythm he had come to know better than his own heartbeat.
"Dad," Ren said, her voice clear and strong, carrying no trace of the hollow whisper she had used on that cold rainy night five years ago. "We need your signature on the foundation approval forms before lunch. Otherwise, Nova is going to try and test her rocket booster inside the living room again."
Gideon turned around, looking down at his two daughters—brilliant, fierce, unbreakable, and completely free.
