Chapter 30 - The Eternal WindowThe rain returned to Seattle as autumn deepened, wrapping the city in its familiar, comforting blanket of grey mist and steady, rhythmic droplets.

Inside the grand showroom of the Hail & Hearth Toy Gallery, the amber fairy lights glowed against the dark wooden shelves, casting warm pools of light across hand-carved trains, velvet display risers, and the painted carousel horse frozen mid-gallop.

Ren, Nova, and Clara stood near the front window, pressing their hands against the glass just like Ren and Nova had done twelve years ago—except this time, they weren't outside in the cold. They were inside, looking out at the city lights reflecting off the wet sidewalk, watching families walk by under bright umbrellas.

Gideon walked up behind them, draping a warm cashmere coat over Ren’s shoulders and another over Nova’s, before placing a third around Clara’s shoulders.

"Store’s closing in five minutes," Gideon said, his voice deep and warm.

Nova turned around, a bright, triumphant grin on her face. "Just five more minutes, Dad. We're finalizing the schematics for the new holiday toy drive."

Gideon smiled, wrapping both arms around his daughters as they stood together, looking out through the glowing glass into the Seattle night.

The rain fell. The city hummed. And inside the warmest place on earth, the story continued—not written in code or ledgers, but in the enduring, unbreakable light of a family that had found their way home.
