CHAPTER 2 – The Man They Never Should Have Touched

The diner doors remained locked.

Outside, sirens echoed through the empty streets.

One by one, black SUVs surrounded the building.

No flashing lights.

No police logos.

Only disciplined men in dark tactical uniforms stepping into position.

Even the bikers looked confused.

"This isn't local police..."

Then every agent did something unexpected.

Instead of pointing weapons at the gang...

They faced the elderly man.

And saluted.

Every single one of them.

The diner fell completely silent.

The lead commander entered, removed his cap, and spoke respectfully.

"Sir... we've been searching for you for forty-eight hours."

The old man sighed.

"I needed some peace."

The commander nodded.

"I'm afraid that's no longer possible."

The bikers exchanged nervous glances.

"What is this?"

One of them demanded.

The commander slowly turned toward them.

"You assaulted a protected federal witness."

The tallest biker smirked.

"So he's a snitch?"

The commander smiled.

"No."

"He's the reason your entire organization has been under investigation for the last fifteen years."

Silence.

The old man finally stood.

For the first time, everyone noticed the scar running across his neck.

A scar from another life.

He wasn't a helpless retiree.

Decades earlier...

He had infiltrated the country's most violent criminal empire under a false identity.

He sacrificed his career.

His family.

His own name.

Everything.

And because of him...

Hundreds of murderers were locked away forever.

But one branch of that organization had survived.

The same biker gang now standing in front of him.

They had spent years hunting the mysterious informant...

Never realizing he had been quietly eating breakfast in the same diner every Tuesday.

The tallest biker suddenly reached for his jacket.

Before anyone could react—

Red laser dots covered his chest.

Dozens of them.

He slowly raised his hands.

"It's over," the commander said.

The bikers were arrested without another word.

As they were led outside, one of them turned back.

"You ruined our lives."

The old man looked him straight in the eyes.

"No."

"You ruined your own... the moment you chose violence."

The commander escorted the old man toward one of the waiting SUVs.

But just before getting inside...

His phone vibrated again.

Unknown Number.

He answered.

A little girl's trembling voice whispered,

"Grandpa... they know who I am."

The old man's face turned pale.

The commander saw it instantly.

"What happened?"

The old man slowly lowered the phone.

"They found my granddaughter."

His secret had protected her for twenty-five years.

Now...

May you like

The hunt had only just begun.
