Ethan stood on the wide wooden front porch, looking out over the valley with a cup of coffee in his hand. The federal audits were complete, Carter Global was restructured under ethical, transparent leadership, and the family was finally at peace.

Or so he thought.

Down the winding gravel driveway, a single unmarked gray sedan crawled past the security gates—gates that should have been locked and monitored.

Ethan’s eyes narrowed. He reached for his encrypted comms device.
