Chapter 8 - The Underground LabyrinthEthan didn't hesitate. He knew every inch of the estate's subterranean architecture—including the historical Prohibition-era tunnel network that connected the main cellar to the old winery on the edge of the property.

He bolted down the hidden stone staircase behind the library, drawing his weapon as he descended into the damp, dark underground corridor.

Flashlight beams danced against the stone walls ahead of him.

"Stop right there!" Ethan shouted, stepping around a corner.

Two masked operatives spun around, raising automatic rifles.

Ethan fired first, his shots striking the concrete floor inches from their boots, forcing them to duck behind a stack of wine crates.

"Drop your weapons or you don't leave this tunnel breathing!" Ethan commanded, his voice echoing with lethal fury.

Realizing they were outmatched and cut off from extraction, the two operatives dropped their weapons, raising their hands slowly into the air.

"Where are the girls?" Ethan snarled, pistol-whipping the lead operative to the ground.

"The boss... Arthur Sterling took them to the airstrip," the operative choked out, clutching his jaw.
