Chapter 7 - THE HOSTAGE EXCHANGE AT HOLLOW CREEK — A MOTHER'S SACRIFICE"BRACE FOR IMPACT!" Sarah screamed.

The heavy armored SUV rammed directly into the center of the roadblock, metal tearing and glass shattering in a shower of sparks. The convoy plowed through the barrier, spinning onto the muddy driveway of the dilapidated Hollow Creek Estate.
The massive stone manor rose into the stormy night sky like a gothic fortress, its central clock tower looming overhead, its massive hands pointing to 11:35 PM.
Nathaniel, Sarah, and Ruby leapt from the battered vehicle under heavy covering fire from Graves security forces. They stormed through the front oak doors of the manor, securing the entry hall.
"Nathaniel!" a weak voice called out from the dark balcony above.
Nathaniel looked up. Standing near the top of the grand staircase, supported by two security guards, was Eleanor—her hair streaked with silver, her face pale, but her eyes burning with the same fierce brilliance he had loved his entire life.
"Eleanor!" Nathaniel shouted, rushing up the stairs and pulling her into a fierce, desperate embrace. "My god, Eleanor... you're alive!"
"Nathaniel..." she wept, holding his face in her hands. "I had to keep her safe. Croft had eyes everywhere... I couldn't risk bringing her back until I had the final proof."
She looked down at Ruby, who was running up the stairs toward them.
"Ruby, my sweet baby," Eleanor cried, dropping to her knees and wrapping her daughter in her arms. "I'm so sorry I had to leave you at the apartment... I was trying to lead Croft’s men away from you!"
"I found Dad, Mom!" Ruby sobbed into her neck. "I gave him the wallet!"
Before they could celebrate, heavy footsteps echoed from the upper catwalk of the clock tower.
A slow, mocking applause echoed through the cavernous hall.

Richard Croft—Nathaniel’s trusted legal counsel—stepped into the light, holding a heavy gold-plated revolver. Behind him stood six heavily armed mercenaries, their weapons pointed down at the family.
"How touching," Croft sneered, checking his diamond wristwatch. "The happy family restored. Just in time to die together."
