Chapter 1 - The Shattered Porcelain and the Silence of the WolvesThe heavy ceramic plate did not just strike Helen; it exploded against her cheekbone with the sound of a pistol shot, scattering razor-sharp shards across the pristine mahogany floor. A fine mist of red bloomed instantly across her powdered skin, matching the violent hue of her sudden, open-mouthed gasp

Ethan’s fork froze halfway to his mouth, a cube of perfectly medium-rare tenderloin balanced precariously on the tines before it toppled back onto his plate with a dull clatter. Robert half-rose from his high-backed leather chair, his knuckles turning chalk-white as he gripped the polished armrests, his mouth working wordlessly like a dying fish.
Helen collapsed sideways, her designer silk blouse catching on the corner of the table before she crumpled against the Persian rug, clutching her bleeding cheek. Her eyes, wide with a mixture of hysterical shock and profound, unadulterated disbelief, locked onto mine.
"You..." Robert finally found his voice, a low, trembling roar that shook the crystal chandeliers overhead. "You absolute, ungrateful savage! Security! Get this piece of trash out of my house right now!"
I didn't flinch. I slowly straightened my posture, smoothing the cuffs of my sleeves with deliberate, maddening calm. The adrenaline singing in my veins felt like liquid fire, but my face remained a mask of cold, unbreakable granite. I looked down at Lily, whose small frame was still trembling violently in her chair, her tear-streaked face turned up toward me in a mix of terror and awe.
"There is no security coming, Robert," I said, my voice cutting through the heavy air like a scalpel. I turned my gaze to Helen, who was now howling like a wounded animal as a dark crimson stain soaked into her expensive cream-colored blouse. "And tomorrow, none of you will even have a roof over your heads to scream under."
"Are you insane?" Robert lunged around the table, his face purple with rage, his massive frame towering over me. He raised a heavy hand, ready to strike, but I didn't back down an inch. I simply reached into the inner pocket of my jacket, pulled out a thick, leather-bound folder stamped with the gold seal of Vanguard Global Assets, and tossed it squarely onto the center of the dining table, right on top of Ethan’s untouched steak.
"Read it," I whispered, leaning in close so that only he could hear the chilling promise in my words. "That's the foreclosure notice for this estate, the liquidation order for every single one of your offshore accounts, and the corporate audit that proves Ethan has been embezzling from the family trust for the last three years."
Robert’s hand froze mid-air. The color drained from his face as fast as it had rushed to it moments before. He slowly lowered his arm, his eyes darting from the gold-stamped seal to my face, where a small, razor-sharp smile was just beginning to form.

"This... this is impossible," Robert choked out, his fingers trembling as he reached for the folder. "Who... who the hell are you?"
"I'm the person who is about to take everything you love," I replied, turning my back on them and offering my hand to Lily. "Come on, Lily. We're leaving this pigsty. Your new life starts right now."
