Chapter 19 - THE UNBROKEN PROMISEI walked back inside, pausing briefly in the doorway of Elena’s bedroom.

She was sleeping soundly, one tiny hand resting peacefully outside the blanket, her chest rising and falling in a steady, gentle rhythm. The moonlight poured through the sheer white curtains, casting a soft, ethereal glow across her face.
I walked over, gently pulling the blanket up over her shoulder, and brushed a stray curl away from her forehead.
"I promised you a world without shadows," I whispered softly into the quiet room, leaning down to press a tender kiss to her warm cheek. "And I will spend the rest of my life making sure you keep it."
