CHAPTER 2 — "The Man Everyone Ignored Owned Their Future."

No one breathed.

The executives looked at one another in complete disbelief.

The chairman forced a laugh.

"This has to be some kind of joke."

The woman slowly turned toward the board.

"My name is Victoria Lang."

"I represent the Brooks Family Trust."

Several directors frowned.

They had heard that name before.

Only once.

Years ago.

A trust that secretly owned controlling shares in dozens of Fortune 500 companies.

A trust whose real owner had never appeared in public.

Victoria calmly continued.

"This meeting cannot begin..."

"...until the majority shareholder takes his seat."

Every face turned toward Samuel.

The old janitor quietly removed his worn maintenance gloves.

Then he reached into his pocket and placed a small brass key on the table.

The chairman's face turned white.

He recognized it instantly.

The key opened the company's original founder's vault—a vault that only one person on Earth was legally authorized to access.

Samuel slowly looked around the room.

"I've spent fifteen years walking these halls."

"I've cleaned your offices."

"I've heard every conversation."

"I know which one of you stole company funds."

"Which one leaked confidential files."

"And which three directors accepted illegal payments before today's merger."

The confident smiles disappeared.

One executive suddenly stood up.

"That's impossible!"

Samuel quietly smiled.

"Is it?"

Victoria pressed a button on the conference room screen.

Financial records.

Hidden bank accounts.

Private emails.

Secret surveillance footage.

Everything appeared one file after another.

The room descended into chaos.

Several directors immediately tried to leave.

The doors locked automatically.

Samuel spoke one final sentence.

"No one questioned the old janitor."

"And that... was your biggest mistake."

But just when everyone believed Samuel had won...

The conference room lights suddenly shut off.

A distorted voice echoed through the speakers.

"I'm afraid... Mr. Brooks isn't telling you the whole truth."

Every screen switched to a single photograph.

A much younger Samuel...

Standing beside the company's murdered founder.

And beneath the picture appeared six chilling words:

May you like

"HE WAS THERE THE NIGHT HE DIED."

To be continued...
