CHAPTER 4 — "The Daughter Who Came Back for Revenge"

Clara’s hands shook as she aimed at Samuel.
"You let my father die."
Samuel’s voice cracked.
"I tried to save him."
"Liar!"
Clara threw a necklace onto the table.
Inside the locket was a tiny recording chip.
Victoria connected it to the screen.
Edward Sterling’s voice filled the room.
"If anything happens to me, trust only Samuel Brooks."
Clara froze.
Then another voice appeared in the recording.
A voice everyone recognized.
The chairman.
He was younger, colder, crueler.
"Sign the company over... or your daughter burns with you."
The chairman’s face turned ghost-white.
Samuel looked at Clara with tears in his eyes.
"Your father begged me to take you out first."
"I went back for him."
"But they locked the doors."
Clara’s gun slowly lowered.
The chairman suddenly lunged for the emergency button.
But Samuel was faster.
Security grabbed him before he could move.
Then Clara turned to the board.
"You all thought this merger was about money."
She smiled coldly.
"It was a trap."
Victoria placed a new document on the table.
Samuel Brooks was not just the majority shareholder.
Clara Sterling was alive.
And together...
they were taking back the entire company.
But before the chairman was dragged out, he laughed.
"You still don’t know who gave the order."
Samuel’s blood ran cold.
The chairman looked straight at Clara and whispered,
"Ask your mother."
Clara stopped breathing.
May you like
Because her mother...
had been sitting silently in the room the whole time.
