CHAPTER 6 — "The Secret Son No One Knew Existed"
The video ended.
Silence swallowed the room.
Frame by frame, Victoria enlarged the footage.
A young man wearing a black hoodie entered Edward Sterling's office moments before the explosion.
His face was hidden.
But one detail stood out.
A silver ring engraved with the Sterling family crest.
Only direct blood relatives possessed one.
Clara whispered,
"That's impossible."
"My father had no son."
Samuel closed his eyes.
For years he had buried the truth.
For years he had protected a promise.
Victoria turned to him.
"You knew."
Samuel slowly nodded.
"Edward had another child."
The room erupted.
Years before marrying Elizabeth, Edward had secretly fallen in love with a woman who disappeared without explanation.
She gave birth to a son.
To protect the boy from the ruthless corporate war, Edward erased every record of his existence.
Only Samuel knew where the child lived.
Only Samuel visited him every birthday.
Only Samuel carried the guilt.
Elizabeth's expression changed for the first time.
Fear.
"No..."
Samuel looked directly into her eyes.
"You searched for him for fifteen years."
"You never found him."
Elizabeth whispered,
"Where is he?"
Before Samuel could answer...
The boardroom doors swung open.
A tall man in his early thirties walked inside wearing a plain black suit.
No bodyguards.
No lawyers.
Only quiet confidence.
He placed the Sterling family ring on the table.
Then he looked at Elizabeth.
"You've been looking for me..."
"...Mother."
The room froze.
Clara stared at him in disbelief.
Samuel lowered his head in relief.
But the stranger's next words shocked everyone even more.
"I didn't come to save Sterling Global."
